A. Personal Information You Provide

- Calendar connections (e.g., Google Calendar)
- Reviews, ratings, and user-generated content

- Professional business informationB. Location InformationWe do not collect precise GPS-based location. While using the app you must manually search by ZIP code.Storage:
Manually input location data is used to surface nearby results. We do not store persistent location history.Sharing:
We do not share location data with third parties.C. Messaging InformationGrapevine includes an in-app messaging feature. Based on our developer’s technical implementation:
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted (no E2EE).
- Messages are sent via AWS Amplify GraphQL, which encrypts data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Messages are stored in AWS DynamoDB, encrypted at rest using AWS server-side AES-256 encryption.
- Images and attachments sent in messages are stored securely but follow the same access rules as messages.Access:We do not actively monitor all messages.
However, message content may be accessed by authorized staff for:
- Abuse reports
- User safety
- Fraud detection
- Investigations of Terms of Use violations
- Legal or compliance requirementsIMPORTANT:
Because messages are not E2EE, Grapevine employees could technically access message content if required for safety or legal reasons.D. Device & Technical InformationWe may collect:
- Device type, operating system, app version
- IP address
- Browser information
- Session data, click behavior, and general usage metrics
- Cookies and tracking technologies on our website (not inside the app)E. Payment InformationAll payments are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Grapevine does not collect or store any full credit card numbers. Stripe securely stores your payment method and will charge it after your appointment is marked as completed. By using our platform, you authorize Stripe to process payments on your behalf. Stripe’s handling of your information is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app
- Connect clients with beauty professionals
- Facilitate bookings, messaging, and payments
- Personalize search results and show nearby services
- Verify identity when required
- Provide customer support

We do not use push notifications.
We use Twilio for SMS-based notifications such as:
- Booking updates
- Verification codes

You may opt out of SMS at any time.5. User-Generated Content
Images, portfolio content, reviews, and other uploads belong to the user who posts them.Professional Photo Policy:Professionals must obtain express consent from clients before uploading their images.

We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for:
- Providing services

Welcome to Grapevine ("Grapevine," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Grapevine mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account or using Grapevine, you agree to be bound by these Terms.Grapevine is a beauty services marketplace connecting independent beauty professionals ("Professionals") with clients ("Clients"). Grapevine does not provide beauty services itself; all services are delivered independently by Professionals.2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use Grapevine. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement.3. Accounts and Registration
You have the ability to view the app as a guest. You must create an account to use most Platform features. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.You may delete your account at any time through your in-app Profile Settings.4. Professional Marketplace Disclaimer
Grapevine is not a beauty service provider, salon, or employer. Professionals are independent providers who operate their own businesses. You acknowledge:
Grapevine does not supervise, direct, or control Professionals.
Grapevine does not guarantee quality, safety, insurance coverage, licensure, or compliance of services.
Professionals are solely responsible for following applicable laws and obtaining any required licenses.
Any disputes between Clients and Professionals must be resolved between those parties.5. Payments and Fees
Payments between Clients and Professionals occur through third-party payment processors. Grapevine charges:
- 2.99% platform support fee for Professionals.
- Professionals are also subject to Stripe’s payment processing fees which are 2.9% + $0.30.
- No platform support fee for Clients. The price you see at the time of booking is what you pay.Fees are subject to change with notice.Refunds
Grapevine does not issue refunds for services provided by Professionals. Any refund requests must be resolved directly between the Client and the Professional.6. Location Data
Grapevine only collects location data when you manually input a zipcode into your search filters. We use this data only to show nearby Professionals and services. Grapevine does not share location data with third parties.7. Messaging
Grapevine includes in-app messaging between Clients and Professionals.
Important Disclosures:
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted (E2EE).
- Messages are transmitted securely using HTTPS/TLS.
- Messages are stored on AWS DynamoDB and encrypted at rest (AES-256).
- Messages may be accessible to authorized Grapevine administrators for safety, moderation, and policy enforcement only.
- We do not actively monitor messages.
- By using the Platform, you consent to these messaging practices.8. SMS Notifications
Grapevine uses SMS text notifications (via Twilio) for reminders, confirmations, and account-related communications.
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time.
Grapevine does not use push notifications and does not participate in advertising networks.9. User-Generated Content (UGC)
Users may upload images, portfolios, reviews, and other content.
You represent that:
- You own or have permission to upload the content.
- Professionals may only upload images of clients with express permission from the client.If you believe your image was uploaded without your permission, contact [email protected].License to Grapevine
By posting content, you grant Grapevine a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and use your content for operating the Platform.10. Moderation and Safety
To protect the community, Grapevine reserves the right to:
- Remove or modify content.
- Suspend or terminate accounts.
- Access messages when necessary for safety or policy enforcement
Investigate potential fraud, harassment, or harmful behavior.We may take action at our discretion and without liability.11. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Violate any laws or regulations
Misuse the Platform to harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Upload content without necessary rights or permissions.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Attempt to interfere with Platform security or operations.12. Intellectual Property
Grapevine owns all rights to the Platform, including branding, software, and content (excluding user-generated content). You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without permission.13. Third-Party Services
Grapevine may link to or integrate third-party services such as payment processors or analytics tools. These third parties operate independently and have their own terms and policies.14. Disclaimers
Grapevine provides the Platform "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Accuracy of listings.
- Quality or safety of services.
- Professional licensure or compliance.
- Continuous or error-free operation of the Platform.You use Grapevine at your own risk.15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Grapevine is not liable for disputes between Clients and Professionals.
- Grapevine is not liable for damages arising from use of the Platform.
- Total liability is limited to the amount paid to Grapevine in the 12 months before the claim.16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grapevine, its officers, employees, and contractors from any claims arising out of:
- Your use of the Platform.
- Violations of these Terms.
- Interactions with other users.17. DMCA Policy and Copyright Complaints
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with:
- Identification of the infringing work
- Your contact information
- A statement of good-faith belief
- A signature (physical or electronic)We may remove content in accordance with DMCA procedures.18. Governing Law
